Michigan Industry Driven Skills Training Program
All Aboard!
Funding is now available for training workers in Michigan’s growing shipbuilding industry.
Oakland County employers in shipbuilding and the maritime parts supply chain can now take advantage of the Michigan Industry Driven Skills Training Program to access valuable funding to upskill their teams and meet their critical talent needs.
The first step to increase their competitiveness is to join an employer-led collaborative to identify shared workforce needs and shape training strategies.
Program Highlights:
Up to $200,000 in training funds are available per employer.
Program covers up to 80% of cost for approved training.
Employees must earn an industry-recognized credential.
Employers are partially reimbursed after completion of training, with the balance reimbursed after a six-month retention period.
Supportive services are available to employees participating in the program.
This funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so employers are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
