Every day is an adventure with Oakland County Parks' Early Childhood Nature Education Programs. Choose from several options at Bowers Farm - Discovery Oaks Park, Johnson Nature Center - Bloomfield Oaks, Red Oaks Nature Center and Wint Nature Center.
Children ages 3-6 explore the farm with a parent or caregiver and discover the many ways agriculture enriches our lives. As toddlers immerse themselves in the natural world, they use their senses to experience firsthand the joys of farm life and participate in educational activities tailored just for them based on monthly themes
Parents and caregivers are invited to explore the outdoors with their toddlers and investigate the many ways nature benefits us. Children ages 2-6 will embrace nature's wonders through their senses and engage in unique learning experiences.
Children will explore new themes each week through discovery, hikes and hands-on exploration. Their confidence and curiosity will build with a deeper connection to nature.
This is an immersive and hands-on program that involves getting dirty, learning big and exploring what it takes to help keep the farm buzzing along. It takes many hands to make light work and you get to be part of the team! Activities are based on monthly themes. This is a child/parent program where parents assist their child where needed.
The class exposes little riders to the care of ponies, horse equipment and riding. This program is not a drop-off program; a caregiver must remain with and accompany the child throughout the session. There is a small group size to ensure a hands-on experience.
