38 Executive Director On My Own of Michigan Dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities, Jennifer Roccanti is the Executive Director of On My Own, a 25-year-old nonprofit in Troy that assists people who want to live independently. Under her leadership, the number of people assisted by On My Own grew by more than 60% last year and she helped develop and implement three new programs that will expand the reach and capacity of the organization. She previously worked as the director of community relations for minor league baseball teams on the East Coast and MiriamÕs Kitchen, a nonprofit that worked to end long-term homelessness in Washington DC. Roccanti volunteers in the Emergency Department at Ascension Providence Hospital in Rochester, and was an advisory board member with Louder than Silence, a nonprofit that empowers survivors of sexual violence and a consultant for Service2Justice, which offers anti-racism workshops. She received a bachelorÕs degree from Suffolk University in Boston, MA and a masterÕs degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and lives in Rochester.
