EvenScore
At 12 years old, Johnnie Turnage started door-knocking campaigns alongside grassroots organizers to encourage his neighbors to vote, while also being an active member in STAND (Students Taking a New Direction) and SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere).
Now, Turnage is the CEO and founder of EvenScore, an online dashboard for people to donate to nonprofits, advocacy groups and political candidates and monitor the impact of that donation. EvenScore was a winner at the Michigan Tech Week Pitch Competition and Campaigns & ElectionsÕ CampaignTech Award in 2022.
In January 2021, Turnage helped convert his workplace, United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 876, into a vaccination site for frontline workers and Oakland County residents.
Turnage is on the advisory board of Michigan Founders Fund, a network of entrepreneurs and investors who support local organizations. He is also involved in numerous community initiatives, including Life Center Church, Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength, Transforming Power Fund and Detroit Action.
Turnage graduated from the Emerging Leaders Program at Michigan State UniversityÕs Great Lakes Leadership Academy.
He lives in Farmington Hills.
