Oakland Community Health Network supports about 27,000 Oakland County residents with services for those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental health challenges or substance use disorders. And, as OCHNÕs healthcare data analyst, Kara Woodliff reviews metrics used to improve mental health treatment for residents. She has worked at OCHN for 6 years, connecting children and families to mental and behavioral health services and has 15 years of experience in the mental health field.
Woodliff helped secure a $5.8 million grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to build the ChildrenÕs Crisis Unit that opened in January 2022. And in 2021, Woodliff implemented a pilot program to help families raising children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
She earned a bachelorÕs degree in psychology from Saginaw Valley State University and a masterÕs degree in clinical psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy.
