32 Sergeant Oakland County SheriffÕs Office Kristen N. Zdankiewicz has worked at the Oakland County SheriffÕs Office for more than 10 years, first as a school liaison officer and then rising to a detective. As the recruiting sergeant, Zdankiewicz is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion and has a major impact on the next generation of law enforcement officers. She is also a trainer for the Sheriff OfficeÕs free womenÕs self-defense courses and earned the Sheriff's Distinguished Unit Citation for the program in 2020. In 2022, she was honored by the SheriffÕs Office for her role in arresting a Òserial predator.Ó In the same year, Zdankiewicz earned two meritorious awards: the Professional Excellence Citation and the SheriffÕs Distinguished Unit Citation for Corrections Division Command Staff. In addition, she was awarded the Disaster Bar Citation for her work during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 and the SheriffÕs Special Commendation Citation for her work as a school liaison officer. Zdankiewicz earned an associate degree from Macomb Community College and graduated from the police academy in 2011. She lives in Shelby Township with her husband and two children.
