Dedicating his life and work to public service Hassan B. Sheikh is a champion of building bridges and coalitions.
As the director of economic development for Wayne County, he has assisted in increasing the countyÕs bond rating to AA and collaborates with regional partners. Sheikh also helped lead the charge to pass transit legislation in Lansing that will help make public transportation more accessible and distribute more than $1 billion in American Rescue Plan Act funding to 43 communities.
He serves as a board member for Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), and Detroit Regional Partnership and Michigan Islamic Sports Association.
Sheikh earned his bachelorÕs degree from Wayne State University and his masterÕs degree from Oakland University. He lives in West Bloomfield resident, with his wife Sumaiya and three children.
