Oakland County has offered to buy six parcels of land in Pontiac comprising close to 12 acres for $19.2 million and that has spurred lengthy discussion at city meetings.
The county offered to buy Ottawa Tower I, 5111 Woodward Ave.; Ottawa Tower II, 31 Judson St., the former General Motors office building; and four adjacent parcels of land all located inside the Woodward Loop between Orchard Lake Road and Judson Street. If the deal goes through the county would assume the Phoenix Center parking garage lease, which includes an amphitheater on the top deck.
