PONTIAC, Mich. - On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, co-defendants Marco Bisbikis, Angelo Raptoplous, and Roy Larry were arraigned in the Oakland County Circuit Court before Judge Nanci Grant on charges related to the fatal shooting of Oak Park jeweler Daniel "Hutch" Hutchinson. Hutchinson was murdered on June 1, 2022, in Oak Park. Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD charged co-defendants Bisbikis, Raptoplous, and Larry with First-Degree Premeditated Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Premeditated Murder, Assault With Intent to Murder, and two counts of Felony Firearm in connection with the murder.

Judge Michelle Friedman Appel conducted a five-day Preliminary Examination in the 45th District Court, concluding on May 25, 2023. During the exam, the prosecution team presented testimony from ten witnesses and introduced over eighty exhibits. The prosecution team argued that the evidence was more than sufficient to present the case to a jury, and the judge agreed, finding probable cause that the defendants engaged in a plan to murder Daniel Hutchinson.

All three defendants remain in custody at the Oakland County Jail pending trial. The case is set for a pretrial before Judge Nanci Grant on June 28, 2023 at 11am.

A fourth co-defendant, Darnell Larry, has already pleaded guilty to related charges. Darnell Larry testified for the prosecution at the preliminary examination, and he remains at the Oakland County Jail pending sentencing.

"The evidence at the preliminary examination revealed a complex and shocking case involving an attorney who allegedly had his own client murdered. I applaud the hard work of the prosecution team, the Oak Park Public Safety Department, the FBI, and the other agencies that gathered the extensive evidence in this case," stated Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. "We will continue working around the clock to make sure we present the strongest possible case to the jury as we pursue justice for the victim and his family."

First-Degree Premeditated Murder is a felony offense punishable by imprisonment for life without eligibility for parole. Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Premeditated Murder is a felony offense punishable by imprisonment for life without parole. Assault with Intent to Murder is a felony offense punishable by imprisonment for life or any number of years. Felony Firearm carries a sentence of 2 years mandatory imprisonment.

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
