FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Today, Judge James Brady of the 47th District Court determined that the case against defendant Zvi Levran will proceed to trial. Levran is a 66-year-old Farmington Hills resident charged with multiple counts of sexual assault. Those cases are pending in two different District Courts. Judge Brady bound over the 22 counts pending in Farmington Hills District Court. Additional charges remain pending against Levran in the 48th District Court.

Levran was a volunteer youth hockey doctor and the prosecution argued that he used his position as a trusted adult to sexually abuse young men. Over the course of the preliminary exam, Judge Brady heard testimony from survivors and experts. Judge Brady agreed with the prosecution that there is sufficient evidence against Levran for the case to proceed to trial in the Oakland County Circuit Court.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald stated "I applaud the survivors who came forward in this case and testified. I hope their bravery will inspire others to come forward. My office will continue to prosecute the accused and fight for justice for all survivors."

Levran will now face trial in the Oakland County Circuit Court. No trial date has been set. Levran remains at the Oakland County Jail pending trial.
