Pontiac, Mich. ­– Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter released the following statement about the death of Oakland County Commissioner Gary McGillivray, who represented the residents of Madison Heights, and parts of Hazel Park and Troy:

“I had the good fortune to work with Gary McGillivray both as a commissioner and as county executive. I also consider him a dear friend. He was a fierce advocate for his beloved hometown of Madison Heights, for better parks, and for progress across the county. My prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
