PONTIAC, Mich. - On Thursday, October 10, 2024, Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD issued 17 additional felony charges against 40-year-old defendant Oumair Aejaz. These new charges are in connection with a series of assaults on a 6-year-old child, spanning six different dates in 2023 and 2024. These assaults are alleged to have occurred in Novi. Charges include two counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, three counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, three counts of Aggravated Child Sexually Abusive Activity, three counts of Capturing Image of Unclothed Person, and six counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. It is alleged that the defendant touched the child sexually and recorded these assaults. The defendant was taken into custody and remains at the Oakland County Jail on previously issued charges.

"We know that there are additional victims, and we ask anyone with information to contact the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office at OCSOSIU@oakgov.com,” stated Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald.

First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct is a felony punishable by life or any term of years with a mandatory minimum of 25 years imprisonment and requires lifetime electronic monitoring and mandatory AIDS/STD testing. Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct is a felony punishable by 15 years imprisonment and requires lifetime electronic monitoring, mandatory AIDS/STD testing, and DNA to be taken upon arrest. Aggravated Child Sexually Abusive Activity is a felony punishable by up to 25 years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $125,000. Capturing Image of Unclothed Person is a felony punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $5,000. Using a Computer to Commit a Crime is a felony punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $20,000.

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
