PONTIAC, Mich. - On Thursday January 9, 2025, Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD charged Franky Steven Humpkins with five counts of attempted home invasion, two counts of breaking and entering, and one count of credit card fraud.

Between December 20-29, 2024, Humpkins is alleged to have attempted a series of home invasions and thefts from automobiles. Ring cameras at the homes captured footage of the unsuccessful home invasions while the homeowners were asleep inside. A parking pass and credit card were stolen from two vehicles and there was an attempted use of the credit card.

“A home invasion, especially when the victims are home, is more than just a property crime. It is a violation of a family’s safety and privacy,” said Prosecutor McDonald. “My office is committed to bringing perpetrators of these crimes to justice because all Oakland County residents have a right to be secure in their homes.”

Today, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued an additional charge of “Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, FF, and CCW” related to Humpkins’ illegal possession of a weapon when he was arrested.

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
