PONTIAC, Mich. – Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD charged Jeremiah Clemons, a 21-year-old resident of West Bloomfield, with Assault with Intent to Murder, Felony Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

 

On May 3, Southfield Police officers were called to an Exxon gas station for a report of shots fired. The defendant allegedly shot the victim after a verbal altercation. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-fatal gunshot injuries.

 

“Guns are not an acceptable way to solve problems,” said Prosecutor McDonald. “This defendant’s alleged actions injured one person and endangered bystanders.”

 

Assault with Intent to Murder is punishable by any number of years in prison, up to life. Felony Firearm is punishable by 2 years in prison, served consecutively with any other sentence. Carrying a Concealed Weapon is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or a $2,500 fine.

 

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
