Summer is always a busy time at the Oakland County Farmers Market. In addition to events like Moonlight Markets and the popular Yoga and Tai Chi Wellness Series, the market is filled with all kinds of locally grown produce, including salad greens, peppers, cherries, peaches, herbs and more. Discover an array of bright, fresh summer-themed artisanal foods and crafts, home decor items and other products like
soaps, candles and much more available for sale. Taking the time to explore the market is the perfect way to spend a warm, sunshine-filled summer day!
The Oakland County Farmers Market is open from 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from May through December and Saturdays only January through April.
Farm-fresh produce is healthy, supports local businesses and helps protect the environment. Check out the Michigan Produce Availability Guide to see when fresh produce will be in season and be sure to visit often to see what treasures you'll find this winter!

The Oakland County Farmers Market is open from 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays through the end of December.
Families and individuals in need of food are encouraged to attend a drive-up distribution event presented by Gleaners Community Food Bank from 9-10 a.m. Wednesdays, May 27 and June 10.
The Oakland County Farmers Market Wellness Series features free, 45-minute yoga and tai chi lessons with Studio 8 Fitness instructors from May through September. Mark your calendar for Saturday morning yoga from 9:30-10:15 a.m. followed by tai chi from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on June 6, July 4, Aug. 1 and Sept. 5.
Then, make time for Lunchtime Yoga from noon-12:45 p.m. on May 21, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20 and Sept. 17.
All sessions will be held outdoors on the grassy area to the west of the market building. Free yoga mats are available for the first 10 yoga participants. The Market Wellness Series is Presented by University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital & Trinity Health Oakland Hospital and Dr. Anil Kumar with Healthy Horizon Sponsor McLaren Oakland.

Senior Market Day is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Oakland County Farmers Market. Oakland County residents age 60 and older can visit the market, complete a short, one-page survey and receive a coupon voucher for $5 to use toward the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables. The coupon must be used on this day only.

The Oakland County Farmers Market is hosting a special Moonlight Market from 4:30-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Shop vendors while enjoying food options, inflatables (socks required) and yard games during this evening of family fun after hours. Want to be a vendor at the Moonlight Market? Vendors offering products made in Michigan and fresh produce, locally-sourced goods, handcrafted artisan products and handmade gift items are welcome. Cost is $39/booth.
Trick or treat with market farmers, crafters and artisans at the Oakland County Farmers Market during Trick or Treat at the Market from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Costumes are welcome as families are invited to shop with vendors, collect candy at most booths and enjoy a safe, delicious day of trick or treating. Purchase your own pumpkin and visit the pumpkin painting craft station for extra seasonal fun.
While at the market, stock up on fall favorites like fresh apples, apple cider, pumpkins and other seasonal goodies and décor. The farmers market is open from 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Throughout the summer, individuals can participate in Senior Market Fresh. This program is for Oakland County residents ages 60 and older who have a total household income of 185% or less of the poverty level.
Once participants attend a one-time class on healthy eating, they will receive $25 in fruit and vegetables benefits on a benefit card to use through Oct. 31. The benefit cards can be used at any farmers market that accept Senior Market Fresh coupons, including the Oakland County Farmers Market.

The Oakland County Farmers Market provides grower-direct fresh produce, flowers and hand-made goods. Vendors showcase their products via indoor and outdoor stalls. Red Wood Grill provides on-site BBQ fare. Special events are held throughout the year, including Oakland Uncorked, Spring Flower Days and Moonlight Markets. Regular programming is hosted by Michigan State University Extension and Master Gardeners, as well as the Oakland Conservation District.
