Drug & Alcohol Testing

Oakland County Drug and Alcohol Testing uses a program called RESULTS. RESULTS uses a Beckman Coulter AU480 Chemistry Analyzer secured through Siemens to perform urine drug and alcohol testing. Siemens’ Syva EMIT® immunoassays are the most widely used and scientifically documented screening tests for drugs of abuse. Syva has been a leading developer and manufacturer of drugs-of-abuse tests for more than 40 years. No other drugs-of-abuse screening tests have a longer or more reliable record. EMIT® test results have been upheld in numerous court decisions and at the highest level of the American judicial system: the United States Supreme Court. RESULTS utilizes drug cut-off levels in compliance with the Michigan Association of Drug Court Professionals (MADCP) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). All urine samples are collected under direct observation by a Sheriff’s Deputy (gender specific), which provides for increased sample integrity. In addition, all urine samples are screened for dilution, validity and adulteration.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is now offering drug and alcohol tests to the public. For a reasonable fee, you can come to one of our RESULTS locations and request a drug test. You can count on us to provide quick and accurate results.

Are you concerned that your child is experimenting with or abusing drugs?
The RESULTS Program is a great resource for you to get straight answers. Bring your child in and we will have a Sheriff’s Deputy (gender specific) witness him/her take a urine drug test so no tricks can be made. By the next day you will get results performed by the Sheriff’s experienced Toxicology Chemists. These results may provide you the peace of mind of knowing whether or not intervention is necessary. The cost for this drug test is $15.

Have there been occasions to suspect that your child had been drinking alcoholic beverages but they denied it?
Bring your child to one the Sheriff’s Office Results sites and a Sheriff’s Deputy can administer a urine alcohol test to determine consumption in the past 80 hours. This test costs $20.

Seek a professional assessment and you won’t have to worry about the limitations and can be assured of accuracy.

Please note only our Troy site will be open on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Pontiac will be closed) and only our Pontiac site will be open on Sundays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Troy will be closed).

Please note that on Monday, September 21, 2026, all male clients called should report to the Troy site before 2:30 pm. After 2:30 pm, male clients can report to both sites. Also, all female clients called should report to the Pontiac site before 3:00 pm. After 3:00 pm, female clients can report to both sites.

Same building as the 6th Circuit Court Probation Department at 1151 Crooks Road between Maple and 14 Mile Road. Use Entrance B located towards the middle of the building on the north side.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm. For weekends, please note only our Troy site will be open on Saturdays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Pontiac will be closed) and only our Pontiac site will be open on Sundays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Troy will be closed).

On holidays, the hours are 9:00am to 1:00pm at both locations. Holiday hours for the current year are listed below.

Colors and letters are posted by 5:30am daily.

Referring Agent Information

New clients to be enrolled in the program must report at least one hour before closing.

You must present valid photo identification to test.
Drug tests cost $15.00, ETG’s cost $20.00, and PBT’s cost $4.00.
Family, friends and children are not allowed in the RESULTS testing area.
Court ordered clients must call the RESULTS Hotline daily to hear colors and letters assigned to test each day.
All urine drug and alcohol tests must be conducted at one of our sites – no results from outside agencies will be accepted by our staff.
All tests are witnessed by a uniformed Deputy Sheriff.
Credit Card Payments – valid photo ID and name on credit card must match. Payment will be denied if the names do not match.

PBT’s are currently administered for $4.

Alcohol tests are conducted by collecting urine samples and analyzing the samples using an immunoassay testing technique. This technique analyzes the sample for the presence of Ethyl Glucuronide (ETG), an alcohol metabolite. Ethyl glucuronide has been shown to be a sensitive and specific marker for ethanol consumption and is detectable in urine for up to 80 hours after alcohol has been ingested.

Drug tests are conducted by collecting urine samples and analyzing the sample using an immunoassay testing technique. Urine drug samples are analyzed following either a 2-Panel Presumptive Screen (tests for the presence of Cocaine and Marijuana) or a 5-Panel Presumptive Screen (tests for the presence of Cocaine, Marijuana, Amphetamines, Benzodiazepines and Opiates).

Courts and probation staff receive weekly compliance reports as well as notification of any positive test results the next business day.
